Großer Tiergarten
Berlin

Tiergarten was opened in 1844, designed by Peter Joseph Joseph Lenné.
Because of the immediate necessities of firewood during WWII much of the wooded area was felled and the empty areas were turned into temporary farmland.
Restoration began in 1949. It was re-forested aiming to create a natural park landscape that gives the people a place to relax and restore.
